Wednesday 29th January

Sad House Daddy presents Starry Starry Nights, a monthly live music event held every last Wednesday of each month upstairs at The Star by Hackney Downs in east London. Entry is £6 and seats are restricted to just 35 places. Here's the line-up for our first show of 2020, #155 featuring:

Charlotte Algar is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter from North London. Charlotte draws on her classical training to create undulating, delicate guitar accompaniments which, paired with soulful vocals, makes for a beautifully compelling style.

Influenced by artists such as Damien Rice, Bon Iver and Fionn Reagan, Easymess is a London based introspective folk project of French singer/songwriter Adrien Latgé. He has produced two EPs, 2016's "Hermione's Bag" and 2017's "One Night Stand", and has just released his latest single, 'Walk'.

9:20pm SAY ANISE
Say Anise is the pseudonym for folk/pop singer/songwriter Emily Barnett. Inspired by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake, her music is delicate but delivered with conviction along with soaring vocals. A lover of all things harmony, you will often find her performing live with vocal backup from her talented musician friends. She has released two singles, the latest being 'Fill It Up' through indie label Copper Brown.

10:00pm ALI NEIL
Ali Neil is the singer/songwriter of folk/alt. country band LEWiSBURG. Calling on the formidable talents of Brian Grogan and Adrien ‘Easymess’ Latgé, he has started a collaborative side project to showcase the more intimate side to his songwriting inspired by folk music traditions.
"Enchanting, rambling songs that recall the whimsy of Tindersticks, the darkness of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and the quirkiness of Belle and Sebastian" – Backseat Mafia
